So we had the newest member of our Toyhome family! As I went through everything her previous tenant had abandoned, I found brand new sheet vinyl, carpet runner, and LED light strip. It seemed the owner had a lot of plans but just never did them. There was quite a bit of junk throughout her as well- but after a few hours I had sorted the salvageable and un-salvagable items into piles in the shed.
I had contacted my friend (the one we had discussed before with the Dolphin needing an engine) about maybe purchasing the Odyssey- so I had been keeping tabs with him about looking at it. Now that it was home and cleaned out, I had him come down to take it for a test drive. He drove it around the block and politely declined. I encouraged him to think about it- yeah it was going to be a project but it had a lot of potential. But ultimately I suppose, it was never meant to be… π
We were pretty confident we would not have trouble finding her a new home once we had repaired her, or even if we didn’t. (But our plan was to fix her up) It turned out we wouldn’t even have to wait a few days before she found her destiny. Remember our friend Rebecca (RJ) that helped us Gaco Serenity? She stopped by to check out the motorhome- gave it a walk through and immediately said, “I think I want to buy this…”
We were surprised! But in the end it was a perfect solution- so we discussed it and came up with a plan. RJ would temporarily partner with us on fixing The Odyssey up- with the intention of purchasing the RV. The Odyssey would live at our house- and we would repair the motorhome and get it ready so that by the end of the next summer she could be traveling in it. RJ would be in charge of the creative design decisions because it was going to be her living space. And if plans changed in the end, we could always sell it and have made an investment.
Now for your viewing pleasure- original pictures of The Odyssey!
