Now she had received the boat treatment! Seal her from the outside and then start focusing within, if water can’t get in you’ve taken care of the problem at it’s source! So- now it was time to take care of the results of the leak he had sealed up in the nose of the camper...
Looks like he had tackled this problem before but it had began to creep in. Without water being and issue anymore, it was time to evaluate how we wanted to take care of it for good. My apologies here, but I don’t have lots of pictures for this project (or a few projects- at this point we didn’t realize we should be cataloging what we were doing…) So the plywood was still plenty substantial- I sanded it down, then painted it with Killz Primer. After I was sure the mold was no longer an issue- we used Dupont Duplicolor Bedliner with Kevlar and painted the bed area. The picture I am showing of the bed is a bit later, when we were working on the curtains and upholstery.
We pulled the carpet back from the edge of the bed so we could paint the edges. Before we did we padded what areas above the cab could be possible head knockers with foam, then covered them with new vinyl. Then we painted the edges with bed liner. It turned out nice, And though water wouldn’t be an issue anymore- I was all about making thinks water resistant anyway.
