So we settled into winter… and my list of things I could do on the Ohana slimmed down drastically. I returned the ATV mirrors, and drove her around town a little bit here and there.
There was one project we wanted to tackle though- we wanted to make those mudflaps! I had been by O’Reillys to check out mudflaps here in town- and found they sold a large mudflap for semi trucks that I could cut into quarters to make my own muflaps.
The edges of the cut where a bit rough, so we took some time and sanded down the edges.
I also bought a pack of panel clips to capture, from the back of the wheel well, the new screws I was going to use to install the mudflaps. We drilled holes as necessary and ran the new screws in along with the old wheel well cover screws. A short time later, after a bit of struggle in the cold and lying in the snow, the mudflaps were installed!
So with the new mudflaps in, it was time to take the padding we used for the ATV mirrors off and swap the mirrors from Serenity onto The Ohana! I felt bad taking them off of Serenity- but The Ohana needed bigger rear-view mirrors badly. Serenity would be able to operate fine with the smaller mirrors, and shouldn’t have a problem with her back-up camera as well! π
With a bit of adjustment they were perfect! These allowed The Ohana to see all around her, and higher up. The higher up was super important due to her height @ 12′ tall. So with that, we had the mirrors in!!!! They were perfect!
